At number 1 Nathan Sneyd was no match for Mark Krajcsak (WR 30) and lost 3\/0. Daniel Kaiser playing his first match for the Luxembourg team put up a game effort only to lose 3\/0. After Vincent Pauli (playing in position 4) lost the first set of his match victory was secured for Hungary and the two remaining matches became the best of three sets.
