The national coach Nathan Sneyd set the ball rolling with his best performance of the week with a very impressive 3\/0 win over the Israeli #1. The Israeli #3 meanwhile levelled the tie with a victory over Luxembourg&#8217;s Stephane Ayache. This set the stage for a thrilling finale. Both Sanjay Raval&#8217;s game at #2 and Daniel Hutchines&#8217; at #4 were evenly matched and the balance of the tie swung both ways as the games progressed. Danny Hutchines&#8217; finally overpowered his rival from the European Junior squash circuit winning 9\/2 in the fifth. Sanjay Raval fought back from 2-1 down to level the scores 2-2 but in the end had to concede defeat when an injury prevented him from continuing the match.
